DaveofD, we order direct sown flats and plug trays from a large corp. GH that will only ship full flats. Since we do a group buy to get wholesale prices, if no one in the club want a partial flat and you do you either take the whole flat or give it up. Market packs or potted items don't have this restriction. Plug flats contain 225-350 plugs running $26-$47. So essentially you get 350 coleus with 1 or 2 leaves, maybe 1/2" tall for $26. Open seeded flats can contain 600-800 seedlings and run $24-$98 for anything from snapdragons to high end wave petunias. As individuals we cannot qualify for wholesale but together we place an impressive order. We do the same for other items too, but since I do a group buy for our annual Garden plant swap, I get most of my stuff then. I can buy a3.8 compressed or 7cu.' bale of Promix B for $24, in the MD.& Va. metro areas this can retail for $40-45. "Strength in numbers" , comes to mind.LOL

Want to buy some coleus? LOL
