I live about an hour from Paul Owen's Slightly Different Nursery so I get to visit there often. He has a polymerous daylily out this year called MY FRIEND JIM that is really outstanding. Wish I had a photo to send but I lost some of my photos in a computer crash and that was one that I lost. It was polyed far more than what Paul registered it as and is a big, bright orange with a red eyezone and it's a tet. Most registered polys so far are diploids.
Paul's place is just beautiful. It's an old horse farm with a spectacular view of the mountains. He gets quite a lot of "winter" at that high elevation so his daylilies are rust free and hardy. Paul spoke at our club yesterday. If your club ever needs a speaker, I would highly recommend Paul. He gives a very funny and informative talk. And his hybridizing program is coming along by leaps and bounds. He's a hybridizer "on the way up". You can catch his talk at the AHS Region 2 midwinter meeting in Cincinnati on Feb 26 if you are going. It's a wonderful way to beat the winter blues!
