I have never grown asparagus because I've heard that they are not easy to grow, and it takes so long for the first decent harvest.

I have always eaten asparagus lightly steamed. Almost makes me insane when people cook vegetables until they are complete mush. I can understand them not wanting chewy veggies, but c'mon leave some of the natural flavors in them.

I have a feeling, I will have to try growing some asparagus, just to taste your recipe, which looks so yummy that now I have to go forage in the kitchen for a snack. What else do you eat with your asparagus when you cook it that way? If you need a taste tester, you are welcome to come on over and cook some here. I'll even do all the dish-washing after.
