I have used this idea in the past with smaller diameter pipe sections. I did not know they had the PVC that large (a lot I don't know, lol). I used two pieces of rebar driven in the ground far enough apart so that the pipe barely fit over them. This stabilized the PVC for me and kept the plant from tipping. Also if it gets top heavy you can put some rocks into the pipe and that will help stabilize it. GREAT IDEA!!! Thank you for posting this! now to find a source for the BIG PVC pipe, hmmmmm............
