lilypatch said:My name is Don Morris. My lovely wife Angel and I own and operate a small backyard daylily hybridizing operation with the help of our teenage son Jeremy and our friend Zack Jones. We are 7 years into our program and just this Spring are offering our first introductions. All 5 cultivars have been outstanding performers here for us. We look forward to spreading them around the country and seeing how they perform in other growing zones. They can be viewed at www.thelilypatch.org at your leisure.
Full formed tets are our concentration with some UFs thrown in the mix. I'm really impressed with the quality of seedlings that I'm seeing from other folks like myself who are just trying to break into the market. I'd say the future of the daylily is in good hands!
We grow several of the latest and greatest, most purchased with a specific breeding purpose in mind and several hundred older cultivars which we will be getting rid of in the next year or two to make room for the 2,000 seedlings that are currently coming in the greenhouse. I believe our own line is established.
We are just west of Nashville, Tennessee, 7 miles off America's highway, Interstate 40. I still work a real job for insurance and to keep the wolves at bay, and whatever the grandbaby needs/wants, but only 14 days a month. Visitors are welcome, just please call ahead, the phone numbers are on the web-site.
Look forward to meeting and corresponding with you all,
Don
