I'd love to grow turmeric to eat, but sadly it upsets my stomach something fierce. I'll just have to stay cranky, I guess.

My gingers grow best with a lot of water here, with our fast draining sandy soil. So when the summer rains start, they really take off. Other than that I grow them near the downspouts, and rain barrels so they get as much water as possible.
