Elaine, I have a roll of white wire cage, must have bought it some years ago to keep Rabbits out of a border. I just a cut a piece with a wire clipper and bend it to size, hook the ends over. Great for Stanhopea type blooms which get stuck in smaller mesh.
And some plants just do better with the added aeration, I guess.
