When the Sempervivum Society was still active they were the official registration authority for the genus. Since they have folded there is no official authority. Peter Mitchell got all my records for the ones that were released in the first part of my "career" so all that information was recorded and he published a preliminary list of names to that point, probably ~800.

I have tried to correct a few entries on the Slovakian list without much luck. For some reason Shirley Rempel was given credit for 'Jungle Fires' but it;s definitely mine.

Peter's web site is certainly the most up-to-date and researched and I thank him for trying to keep things in order. It is no easy business in a genus known for misnamed plants! When Toby and I decide on the next group of names I will send Peter more photos and descriptions for his site.

What we really need is a society with a designated registrar. Maybe after the iris convention is over next spring I can try to organize a Sempervivum Society again. I think there is certainly interest out there but with the potential of 800 people coming to my yard ALL THINGS have to wait until after that!

Kevin
