Since all daylilies originated from the plain daylilies I really do expect to have plain ones thrown in there (more than I'd like) since the genes are there. I don't go back and look at ancestors of the ones I use to see what I may end up with but it just catches you off guard when all of a sudden in the middle of patterened or eyed blooms there is a yellow
If there is really a question in my mind about a cross I will go look up the parentage history but not usually.
