Rainlilies just went into a pot, just a few minutes ago, sort of between raindrops. My soil and a bit of potting soil plus a layer of composted leaves mixed. Same for the Chinese Cucumber but oh wait till you see what I did with the Moonflower vine, that will be a surprise.
So, by planting in the 10 sprinkled minutes between heavy showers, I am down to the Hoya, the Clematis and the Datura. The Hoya will be a kitchen window inside plant and the Clem will have its own pot with a little trellis for now and the Datura will have a bigger pot, actually the same pot my old Datura that I lost was in. Oh, forgot the Confederate Rose, I have the pot ready for it too, and the soil mix, so maybe tonight or maybe in the morning, but neither of them is even wilted, so I'm not worried. I'm planting CRose in a sort of medium pot because it will eventually go inground. Maybe fall unless things continue as they are and if so I'll take them all on the Ark with me.
Not what I'd planned, everything in pots, but the rain created a problem out in the garden and with wild things flying in the wind, pots were best. Luckily I had lots of pots and a lot of good soil mixed as well. And maybe too, the pots were the best for all of them anyway. Guess we'll see.
Whew! What a time I've had and today Jmorth just mailed my gloriosas to replace those I lost by some kind of pure carelessness over the winter. I'd had them for two years but didn't count on all the ice of the past winter. See, in KY I can always blame the bad plant events on the weather.
