Enjoyed your daylilies, Han! Your picture of Littorea made me look up the word's meaning ("littorea") and it is "spiral coiled shell" ... I imagine from the recurved petals and sepals. Very wonderful to see what others saw and found so beautiful in 1929. Also glad to see that people are rediscovering it in their own gardens today.
