Really nice seedlings everyone. I said a long time ago HAPPY HAPPY would be one daylily I would always grow and Lyle has shown some of the reasons why, love the round seedlings it produces.

I don't need Kim until next year, Saturday is my last day to hybridize this year, another short season because of the late bloom. Some things I wanted to use has yet to bloom, but I will have enough seedlings to get excited about next spring.

Tina the first thing I see in a seedling is the bloom, (all blooms are pretty to someone) but the first thing I really look at is the scape, (height, branching, bud count, and strong enough to stay erect without staking. The scape must enhance the bloom, I don't want a mini on a 32" scape nor do I want a large flower on an 18" scape. I don't care about a 50 bud count, I had rather have an 18-30 count on large flowers because of crowding and rebloom is a must. I do all my selections on rebloom.
This is LILLIAN'S LYING TIME AGAIN rebloom scape at 9 months old.
