Rhubarb strawberry pie is my absolute fave! We have several huge clumps of rhubarb at our farm. They have been there forever.
I will share my Rhubarb Bear story:

We were off to the farm, about a 5 1/2 hour drive NE of Calgary. We got away really late and then had some delays with a flat tire on the tent trailer that we were pulling. Arrival was 3AM. Hubby was trying to unhook the trailer, the mosquitoes were in swarms and the bats were trying to catch the mosquitoes. It was very dark with no moonlight, so my job was to hold the flashlight so hubby could see what he was doing. I thought there was a noise behind me, so I shone the flashlight behind me. Instant panic...Yell BEAR!!! and ran as fast as I could to get in the truck. Now, depending on who's telling the story, my daughter's version is that I shoved her out of the way and got in the truck, immediately locking the doors. I really don't think I actually did that. My husband just ignored the entire thing and managed to unhook the trailer without a helper with a light. The BEAR turned out to be a big clump of rhubarb. The kid loves telling this story and calls it The Rhubarb Bear Story.
