They are all going well despite all. The supplier of those plants cuts right back to near half-an-inch to the top of the crown and then peels back some more (I suspect because of rust). That is fine but it takes much work by the plant to become even a reasonable fan again after the slashing.

Moonlit Masquerade is really struggling but, as you know, JTD took off like a rocket.

Compared to later fans that were big and green from the cold south, this lot look puny. The southern ones are just powering.

However, joy, the winter solstice is due in 11 days and, once the days start lengthen, all should be rife with growth.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.
