Debra, I wasn't even brave enough as you were to resolve to go after that same weed grass here. I wanted to expand one flower bed by just digging it all up - it has taken over a ten-foot-by-ten foot area at the edge of the lawn, next to the bed. But, it's just so hard to eradicate!

Cindy, sounds like you did good - even a bit of downsizing changes the landscape and increases diversity. Veggies can be a real devotion, too, of gardening time. We're still just trying to find any other plants that can be added as companions to the daylilies.

Glen, it is neat to hear that your south is colder, your north is warmer. Do you have pics to show the difference in how fans looked on arrival along with pics of how they looked once settled in for a few weeks? It sounds like they'll all even out by blooming time, though. Great to get them planted before the winter solstice.
