Still only 10% of cv's have scapes here in 7A and normally the bloom season starts May 30th. We were hammered all winter with ice storms and a few major hail storms and no clue if the repetitive ice is the cause of delay. Then a few weeks ago hail the size of golf balls shredded foliage. Who knows when this bloom season will ever start but I'm seeing shorter scapes on some of the taller cvs. I'm glad to have some prebloom on new arrivals so I can at least see something.
Here is the 2nd bloom of Gnashing of Teeth taken @ 8:15 tonight, which endured a downpour all day and the bloom still perfect. Color is much deeper than this. I feel like I should stick it in a cooler with dry ice to look at in case I don't see another bloom this year.
