Thank you so much for the gooseberry pie recipes. We grow lots of gooseberries, and I'm on a quest to find a recipe for a perfect gooseberry pie. They're so full of juice that most pies wind up soggy. This year I'll try all of these recipes. Our gooseberries are only now in bloom here in far northern Michigan, but they crop plentifully even in our very cold climate. There are some wonderful varieties out there. Almost any gooseberry is better than 'Pixwell', though it's the most common one in US commerce. Try some of the Finnish ones, like 'Lepaa Red', or others like 'Red Colossal'.

I'm also crazy for currants and would like to find recipes for those. I make juice and jelly from them. Is there anything else to do with them?

Thanks again,
Nancy
