I tried some new ones this year, new to me that is. Galtonia, Bessera elegans, Oxalis regnellii 'Pot of Gold', Polianthes tuberosa- Mexican single, Triteleia 'Queen Fabiola', and several varieties of Crocosmia and Achimines. Also trying my luck at some tuberous Begonias from the 'On Top' series, Calypso and Sunset. I've always loved tuberous begonias, but they tend to melt as soon as it gets hot and muggy, so I've avoided them for years. Brent and Becky's catalog says the few varieties they offer perform well in summer heat, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
"...and don't think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter. It's quiet, but the roots are down there riotous." Rumi
