JungleShadows said:I know this is not a semp but I think many of you have seen my plant of the Sedum 'Sandy's Silver Crest'. It is a sport that was found in Sandy MacPherson's garden and he shared it with Helen Payne. She named it 'Sandy's Silver Crest' because it sporadically produces white tips to the shoots and also more rarely forms crests. Unfortunately it can often be neither tipped or crested much of the time. The hybridizer in me knew I could do better so I let the plant form seed in isolation from other sedums (thus ensuring that most seed was from self pollination). Most of the seedlings were pretty much boring greens but this seedling was like baby bear, 'Just right". Well almost. if it had huge crests too, but Rome wasn't built in a day!

This might be my first Sedum introduction!

Enjoy!

I can't wait to add this one to my collection. I do have 'Sandy's Silver Crest', and love it. But it is true that it can be quite fickle on producing those lovely cream/white tips, and so far I have not had any crested parts.
Here is a photo from last year, I will get a new photo of it this weekend.

Your new plant is a huge improved on the original. Way to go Kevin.
