I believe I have Flore Pleno and I know I have variegated Kwanso. I just noticed today that my Flore Pleno is blooming, but Kwanso is still developing scapes. Can we distinguish the two by bloom time? Single fulva var. Europa began blooming here about a week ago, so it looks like Flore Pleno comes maybe a week later, and I'm guessing my variegated Kwanso in another week. Neither is located by a building, so they shouldn't be influenced by heat from a wall that would speed things up. Of course, my observations would be based on the assumption that variegated Kwanso is a vegetative sport of green Kwanso and is identical other than foliage. If variegated Kwanso is the offspring of the other two, per the AHS database, then green Kwanso may bloom at a totally different time than its variegated namesake.

Does anyone have more than one of these varieties and do you have any observation on bloom times? Bob

I am attaching a picture of what I believe to be Flore Pleno, from my grandmother's garden.
