Sure. A Purple Prince that was virused to the hilt! Seriously, I had a couple behave the same way. In fact, I've got two potted up over at my daughter's house for observation right now. Your plant might be living with a single virus and under normal circumstances, look and perform just fine. But when some sort of stress or strain is added to the picture, the virus symptoms become apparent. You might want to disbud and pot it up to isolate it and hold for observation next year. But, I've had plants behave exactly in the same manner as you describe--all twisted and short, etc., only to find out they were in the process of double nosing or dividing for the next year.
Normally, I usually think of henryii as a most virus resistance species.
