So true, but now that I think about it, my little Richard Mueller babies, the B. Yellow Birds go the other way, they start out ivory/pink and progress through the yellows. Jim's started out more yellow, and ended with more pink.

Here's a really bad flash shot I just took of one of my "maybe" Yellow Birds with flowers at 3 different color stages, top left is almost red with a white lip, middle is pink/ivory and the bottom right one, open a couple of days now is very yellow.

Here's a real puzzler to me, my plant of Richard Mueller itself does not change color at all. They open pale yellow and stay pale yellow.
