Elaine,
Your idea is really practical. Its working . In summer time our place become like desert, dry with no humidity and at the same time we get hot air blow from all over .... I am setting up drip irrigation system , covering two sides which is 15 feet long x 2 with jute screen , water will drip slowly on the jute screen , hot air is blown to the screen making the inside portion humid a little. . Let see.
Your idea is cool.
