Has anyone here used either of these recipes?

HOOKER'S FORMULA (5 GALLON BUCKET)

1/3 cup Peters or Miracle Grow (Crystals)
1/3 cup Epsom salts
1/3 cup liquid iron
1/3 cup fish emulsion
5 gallons of water

Put the ingredients into the 5 gallon bucket, then add the water using a garden hose making sure the ingredients are well mixed and disolved. As the mixture should not be stored, adjust the recipe to make only the amount you need. Apply 2-4 cups to each clump, more or less, depending on the size of the clump.

FIRST YEAR SEEDLING BLOOM POTION (from Tinkers)

1 cup Beer, any brand, rot gut generics will do
1 cup lemon ammonia
1/2 cup lemon Joy dishwashing soap
1/3 cup mint oil (this is for thrips, but I've never bought it because I can't find it)
1/2 cup white Karo syrup (sometimes I leave this out because it clogs the sprayer)
1/2 cup Miracle-grow or Peters (Crystals)
Mix the contents into a hose end sprayer. Set at 2 oz. per gallon. Saturate soil and foliage every 21-days. Spray early morning or late afternoon only.

I found this on another website doing a google search and saw some names that looked familiar.
