That particular picture there does not look like an inflo...rather more like a limb starting like Hetty had suggested...An inflo will have a cluster of little bumps at that size...also, most leaves start from the center, but before the inflo comes up through the center...the new leaves will start moving apart to allow room for the inflo. You have that going on, but the tip is smooth like a limb...or I have seen inflos come up with no flower nodules on them ...or very few.

Just give it time...that always reveals what you are getting!
PS...we are no different than you. We walk our yard twice a day looking for new crowns (inflos) every day! The other morning I found 3..one on a Fools Gold (baby), a Dawn Pink, and on my Kiya! Great way to start the day!! So be excited !
