All beautiful, Elaine!

Ah yes. And I read you! Smiling Also, I found part of the discussion in the meanwhile - Post #529114 posted by Ken on Dec 22. 2013 and following. Smiling

Since my Copper Queen bit the dust following my attempt to divide a very overgrown plant a couple of years ago, I had to pick some older pictures. Perhaps you might find them interesting to see some differences in color.
Just for the fun of it one can compare the sun intensity of our locations by looking at the latitudes - ( this was prompted by looking at the fairly light ( I thought) of Elaine's pretty blooms, compared to what I remember of my old plant. Different clone or -
looking at it in high Summer - the intensity of the sun here in NJ is 85% of that in Florida and 94% of the sun intensity at Ken's home. Now if your shade cloth or similar is higher than 15% and 6% respectively, then that would say that I grow my Cattleya at higher light intensity than both of you. ( only the "cut of glass" and outside the large grid of the cage.)
Interesting?
Indoors at the end of September

Anyway, this was just for the fun of it and probably still doesn't answer the mystery…..
