Cardboard is not heavy enough. Cardboard is good if you want to attract earwigs to eat other bugs though.

At Daylily Mecca I saw all the big daylily operations using that weed block fabric and was in awe of the beautiful gardens.
Fact here is that I may never be able to afford decent weed block fabric.
