David mad are you crazy I love the help. I agree what I did was wrong. I was focusing on evergreen structure bushes like that you posted and I let my plan on the ground I guess when I purchased the plants.

I purchased evergreens that are weeping and Threadleaf Arborvitae these bushes are not structure enough. Then I got silly and wanted color and purchased Sandcherry bush another non structural bush. I kept buying bushes that did not give me the structure I think the house needs.

I like that idea about outlining the walkway with plants. I did start one on then other side.
