Linnea, I don't think you are a green weirdo but where do they spray wheat with roundup to dry it out? I have never heard of this. It is sprayed and wicked for weeds before harvest (while the wheat is still green) to kill the weeds. It is on rare occasion sprayed after it has completely matured to kill any late weeds because it could not be harvested on time due to weather. The insurance companies force this practice so they do not have to zero out the fields and pay a total loss to the farmer.
I am not going to argue the point that mass amounts of roundup are not bad - they are!
GMO is another subject all together. Some of our seeds crops are becoming so genetically modified that it scares me. They are roundup ready so even roundup won't kill them. The pollination is different, there is a lot to it and it is just weird and scary.
