Marilyn - When I go to a hardware store or big box store, I can spend hours just looking at the products they sell, trying to figure out what I can use some of the items for! LOL! My husband likes Home Depot for the tools, and I like HD for the garden center. I got the concrete donuts at HD in their garden center. They were stacked up in the same area as their other concrete products like pavers, stones, etc. They look just like donuts. When I use them under my pots, I flip the donuts upsidedown so I have a flat surface for the pots to sit on! They are used to put over/around "sprinkler heads" on an irrigation system to protect them from damage of lawnmowers, weed eaters, and being stepped on.

I am thinking about the different ideas I used in this article and in the photos. I was surprised at how many ideas I mentioned or showed in this particular article:

Pallets to make a Vertical Garden and/or garden divider/privacy screen
Tarp to make the plant pockets
Plastic trellis for a wooden plant box bottom for drainage and support of plants
Chicken wire to prevent squirrels from uprooting new plants
Mailbox for hand tool storage
A stand alone post to use for hanging baskets, the mailbox, AND .... I am also planning to put 4 whimsical handmade wooden street signs at the top of the 4x4 post, too, for deco!
Concrete donuts for pot legs/pot drainage
Water crystals in the soil to help keep the plants hydrated in the shallow pockets
Wood mulch pathway

Gee ... if I had been smart, I would have written 9 different articles featuring each idea separately! LOL! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Thumbs up

JK! I hope folks who like this article will try making a vertical garden, too! It really turned out better than I was expecting and has worked out better than I thought it would! It was one of those ah-ha moments that paid off! Big Grin
