I am dead heading my roses to encourage roots this year. the deer came into the yard to help one evening. I guess the Bambi-be gone spray wore off. As long as I keep spraying, they stay away.

I would love to see Jessica and you again! I sent you an email about my new place. Best get back out to battle the weeds and trees!

I came in to calm down and cool off. I was working in the future tiger garden when a hawk flew low and dropped a dead snake about 3' away from me. Yikes! Of course I screamed, Winston the pug started barking, Hershey the pitbull next door started barking and one of the roofers working across the street checked if I was alright. He warned me to look out for that kind of snake - black with a triangle head - because it has a poisonous bite. I always look out for snakes, but didn't expect them to drop from the sky.

I really hate snakes. I don't mind them slithering around catching rodents, as long as they don't surprise me - or me them.

I am providing comic relief for the neighborhood today.

I am thinking of own root Summer Song and Christopher Marlowe in the front bed. I love Austin roses!
