Paul is correct that Curly Fries is not a miniature since it reaches 10 inches tall. That makes it a small hosta.

Hostas up to 4" tall are dwarf, and those up to 6" tall are miniature. This standard is rather stringent and I do not agree with it. I would rather cut off at 8" since some do not reach their recorded height while others might exceed.

Since most of us do not measure our plants, some hostas taller than 6" are often called miniature.
