If you can keep them growing for a whole year after germination, you may start seeing some colors at the conclusion of that year. When you really start to see what you've got is when they come up after their first dormancy. Because of this, labeling your cross and seed trays is extremely important if you want to know later what the parents were. Otherwise, if you wish to duplicate that cross and you don't know the parents you used, you're going to have fun trying to find out which plants you used.
