In my perennial garden, I keep them cut back to about 3 feet and they are a beautiful blooming shrub. In other areas of the property, I leave them alone and they can grow as high as 10 feet.

I keep mine between 4-5 feet, they bloom more on new wood so once a year pruning produces more flowers, as well as keeping them look nice. I've had them tall and they produced mostly small flowers and the leaves didn't look good so once I pruned and fertilized they looked great.
