Cookies4kids said:I was looking at my bag of alfalfa pellets today, and I noticed that it was only 17 percent alfalfa. Is that what the rest of you have?? I was a little dismayed at that number but maybe that's all it should be. I also noticed that some of what I put down last week is getting moldy on the top. Is that ok and should I be mixing it into the ground more??

I was going to ask the same thing that Sue did.... Are you sure that the 17% is not referring to the protein. I have never bought a bag of alfalfa pellets that said 100% alfalfa but it does give the percent of protein in it which is usually 16 or 17%
