I know that solarization helps reduce the problems with wilt in my tomatoes. It gets pretty hot under there! I use black tarps and it really soaks up the sun. Of course I rotate crops. It would have to be used to establish a new bed. It may help with the leaf spot, but I don't know how you would use it to combat borers or leaf spot in future years. I suppose if you have enough property, you could rotate crops some. But I don't think it would solve the borer problem.
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
