In my perennial garden, I keep them cut back to about 3 feet and they are a beautiful blooming shrub. In other areas of the property, I leave them alone and they can grow as high as 10 feet.

we have them here in Indiana also, I try to keep mine cut down shorter, the blooms on some are really beautiful. single flower not so pretty.
