Mine gets every other day or sometimes everyday watering when we get high 90's to 100's. Made me realize it is summer, sitting in full sun..it has leaves, it is thirsty. And when I water, I water the root zone area with spraying on the fat caudex. I can do that here since our humidity is low at times 20 to 40%. Nada rain here Rolling my eyes. Watch the caudex too, it gives me visual idea when it is starting to feel thirstier..I can see one side slowly shrinking.

So if you got similar conditions as mine, your stepped up watering should be fine.

Just watch your temps, when it just hovers in the low 80's, I do that 3 to 5 day interval.
