Pouring rain today, tomorrow, and Friday. That system that was in the midwest, yesterday in the mid atlantic, and now today has caught up with us in the northeast. So I thought I would show a few leftovers that are still blooming, and some end of summer garden shots.
TED'S TRIBUTE TO LINDA - FFOE - Also, a late bloomer probably because it takes the warmest part of the summer to help this gorgeous huge flower to open successfully. 8+ inches in overall size, with a yellowish/green edge that has to be 3/4". It's a massive and beautiful bloom when it all comes together just right, and a remarkable tribute to Linda Agin.
BAJA CALIFORNIA - FFOE - 2nd yr. in my garden. Did not bloom last year. Another huge bloom. 3 scapes have large buds on it. The colors in 'Baja', makes me feel like I am lounging on a beach in St. Martin's WI sipping a Planters' Punch or Mai Tai. Wishful thinking in January.
ICICLES - I planted 'Icicles' in mid May. It came with 2 small scapes, and bloomed for several weeks in June. But it was a small plant and I was worried about it. About a month ago, I fertilized it again with Alfalfa and fish meal. Well, it send up 3 small rebloom scapes . This is the first bloom on rebloom scales.
Speaking of rebloom. Take a look at 'Emerald Dream' which just finish a 2 month bloom.
EMERALD DREAM - 6 Rebloom Scapes. Amazing!!
SDLG. CUTTING LOOSE X GASKINS A-103 - one of my sdlgs. Will be staying around for another year.
