I wonder if Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts still earn merit badges in lashing and agriculture ?

Yes!

If you know someone with a child in Scouting, you might ask them to ask around if anyone wants to earn credit in an area like these, by doing a small project in your backyard. If they want a bigger project, they could practice on you and then set up shade lean-to-s all over town, wherever plants are being scorched.

I wish someone would build me a pea or bean trellis / sun shade! Not that I need a sun shade, but I would love a rustic pea trellis made from bamboo poles! My attempt was pathetic, but I only had really skinny poles to work with.
