I don't believe this is actually Penstemon superbus. The very expanded throat on the flowers is wrong for this species.

Also, penstemon keys say that the flowers on Penstemon superbus are scarlet, as shown in these photos... however, some other references claim pink, too.

Looks like you've got it in the right penstemon group though - Peltanthera - which includes the species with the unusual, very symmetrical flowers (vs. the common, strong vertical bilateral symmetry of most Penstemon species). However, I'd suggest your plant is actually Penstemon wrightii, which fits the expanded throats of the flowers and also the pink colour (occurs in both scarlet and pink), as well as matching the other leaf and habit characteristics:
