Debra beat me to it, I was going to suggest trying Thundershirts, too -- not that I have any experience with them myself, but could be worth a try.

I know I'm not going to be moving there with my collies... they are impossible when the fireworks start (and we live far from any "official" fireworks displays, just a few, really, set off by people that live nearby -- and then pretty much just for the 4th of July). My vet has said to just ignore them, rather than trying to reassure them, etc. -- but it's kind of hard to ignore two 75 lb. dogs trying to get into your lap... Hilarious!
