Hello! I'm new here and was hoping someone might be able to help. I bought a fern at Lowe's (I don't know what kind of fern, exactly), brought it home, and repotted it as it was rootbound. It was doing poorly in the living room because the air conditioning is always running so there wasn't enough humidity. So I put it outside hoping to correct the problem (we live in central Oklahoma where there is a lot of humidity). It still wasn't doing well (it was browning and drying up, the new shoots it was developing started dying) so I brought it back inside and put it in the bathroom. It's doing well now and a lot of new shoots are opening up. However, I noticed what I'm going to call a spore growing off one of the leaves. I don't think it's a fern spore, as this looks almost like a tiny strand of hair (about 1/3") with a small white bulb growing out of the end. Because mushrooms grow everywhere here, I was wondering if it's possible it picked up some sort of spore when I had it outside.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be and if it's something I need to worry about?
