This is it's second year, it was a gift plant.
Last winter and the previous year I thought it died out with our winters, and in 2013 it came back and popped up a single scape. This year I had several scapes, but the color was off until the later flowers. But, due to the frigid winter and cool wet spring, it is not the only one of my daylilies with their color off, it took some several blooms to come into their own.
When it blooms true, it looks exactly like the photos, and when that happens it is my favorite brownish daylily. It has never hung up for me.
I would plant it in a sheltered spot and give it a little TLC. But I have not regretted having it since it was initially free, and now was a BOGO and worked as a gift plant for me. I think it is one that needs time to settle in. ~Jan
PS - I will see if I have any photos of it and post later
