I use burlap all the time, it's also a good natural weed barrier for paths, etc. Takes it a long time to break down even under mulch. I used to get it from Dick Blick when I bought school supplies from them, they have boxes of remnants that can be purchased by the pound. Last time I looked though, that 50 pound box was all you could get and it was maybe about $60. Fifty pounds would go a long way but when I was buying, I don't think I bought that much. The sizes are good, too, some 3 and 4 yard pieces, maybe more. I expect you could find it wherever fabric is sold too. Great for what Sandi used it for. I hope this link takes you right to it.
