Near McIntosh, Florida (Zone 9a)
I get lots of prolifs but have never started them in water.
I dip them in a rooting activator, stick them in a pot of peat/perlite mix,
and put them a shady spot for awhile. They root like crazy.

Sand rooting is also a good way to root plants.
