Gleni - That's funny! How big are those bandicoots? They remind me of opossums here. Only I bet the opossums are much larger?

I always find it amazing what some of the birds eat. We have a lot of water fowl here since we are so close to the ocean. Many of them have those long skinny curved bills. They like to dig around with their bills in soggy areas. Only the buzzards strip meat off bones here. People always think they are horrible birds, but they help keep the road kill from sitting around too long and stinking. I consider them nature's housekeepers.

Things are winding down here as far as daylilies go. Though I am seeing new leaf growth on several of the larger plants. Go figure! It's been horribly hot here. August and September are usually the hottest months of the year. Things should start cooling down the end of October. We've been very lucky this year and not had any hurricanes to threaten us .... yet. I hope that trend continues. Hurricanes are not my favorite weather threat.
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.
