There are 11 of the nominees growing in the garden....

BALI WATERCOLOR - grows well, beautiful bloom, branching and budcount are low.
BASS GIBSON - saw this in a friends garden last year and loved it. Newly planted this year and will wait until next year to evaluate after it goes through a winter here.
GAVIN PETIT- Nice dark eye but branching/budcount are very low.
HYPERION- a long time favorite and one of my 3 picks for award consideration.
JERRY HYATT - awesome flower and plant. Always makes visitors stop to admire the large blooms ( me too!). Second cultivar considered for the award.
LINDA BECK- blooms are beautiful, open nicely, low budcount/branching.
ROCK SOLID- great northern grower, blooms open well, increases nicely, branching and budcount. Third one on my short list for consideration.
SHORES OF TIME - another good northern daylily with pretty clear pink blooms. Does not open well for me on the cooler mornings.
WEBSTER'S PINK WONDER - Huge bloom, scapes are strong enough to hold the large blooms upright without being over done and clumsy. Budcount and branching are not as good as some others on the list.
WISPY RAYS - Love this one! The color screams at you from a distance, big bloom, grows well for me, nice in a clump, low budcount.
WONDER OF IT ALL- This one is gorgeous when it opens well. Unfortunately the edge hangs up on more than the majority of the blooms for me.

Four grew here but have left the garden for various reasons...
BETTY FORD, BRER RABBIT'S BABY, RED RIBBONS and VELVET RIBBONS.

From my short list of Hyperion, Jerry Hyatt and Rock Solid...
I vote for Jerry Hyatt.
