This is an unusual flower for a tropical hibiscus in that the flowers tend to be different from one bloom to the next. The photo here shows a particularly pink version of the flower, but other flowers have a greyish-purple shade mixed in as well, which is where I assume the "Smokey Mountain" name comes from. Wish it were more consistent with it's bloom colors, but in a way it's kind cool to have these little differences in flowers. It gives the plant a bit of mystery.
