Hi everyone......good to see you all. Stopped in because I have a question about peat and coco coil. I want to start some cuttings of an old hybrid Holiday Cactus that is part S, x Buckleyii and it rots if I try and start them in water. I was told Peat works better than the cocacoil...does anyone on here use either and if so, for what. The mix would be perlite and peat or cocacoil...Any thoughts????@gitagal, you may remember this old plant. it is Petra's Pink and something happened to the old plant and when we took it out of the pot the soil had something in it I had never seen before. It actually looked like sand, but it was not sand. I had never repotted that plant because it was so old and I did not want to mess with it. One day it just began to drop segments and look sick and droopy. I am unable to save any of it if I can not root the segments I removed and put in water. I keep praying because it was a great old plant.
